“Mofumofu Tsushin,” a leaflet filled with pictures and information about cute Akita dogs, is available at Akita Inu no Sato, a visitor center in Odate City, Akita Prefecture. It has been well received by visitors.
Ando Rin, a member of the community-reactivating cooperator squad, is in charge of its planning and editing. While she usually sends out Akita dog information on social media, she published the first leaflet in May 2022, hoping to deliver information to those unfamiliar with social media.
The leaflet is scheduled to be published every two months in A4 size, color-printed on both sides. The second leaflet was published in July, featuring a birthday celebration of Homare (three-year-old female), a signboard Akita dog at Akita Inu no Sato, which took place last month. Other contents include a “letter” from Homare, a four-panel comic strip by one of the Akita Inu no Sato staff members, and recommendations for gift items in the souvenir corner.
Ms. Ando said, “I hope the leaflet will be a good chance to encourage visitors to come back to Akita Inu no Sato.”
The magazine is available on the Akita Inu no Sato website, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
