The famous Akita dog Hachiko, standing in front of Shibuya Station, Tokyo, moved back to Akita to work from home! The Akita Prefectural Office created a unique video depicting Hachiko moving to Akita to encourage people living mainly in large cities such as Tokyo to work from home in Akita Prefecture.

The video, mimicking breaking news, reports that Hachiko left Shibuya to start working from his hometown in Akita Prefecture. While standing next to Hachiko’s statue in Odate City, a “translator” expressed the loyal dog’s feelings, “well, now a new way of life is getting popular, and it is not the era to get jammed by crowded people.” The video shows various benefits of living in Akita, such as healthy and delicious food, hot springs, comfortable living conditions, and a reputable educational environment.

“First of all, we want to get many people’s attention. Since everyone knows of Hachiko, we thought he would be a great influencer. We will be delighted if our prefecture is another option to live and work from home remotely.” – Akita Prefectural Office.
