Sneak in! Watch Fluffy Akita Dog Puppies Having breakfast (1) Roundish Little Ones Eating Together

Noshiro Kojuso is a kennel specializing in Akita dogs in Noshiro City, Akita Prefecture. We learned that the puppies born between June and August of this year are growing up fast and healthily. In early September, our reporter “sneaked” into the kennel to see the fluffy tiny puppies who will soon grow into big Akita dogs, and watched them having their breakfast. Looking at them eating with all their might and eating well, the reporter couldn’t help but smile.

The three puppies are playing “Oshikura Manju” and shoving each other. But one perfectly looked up to the camera and showed a face in the enjoyment of food.

Shortly after 7:00 a.m., the reporter arrived at Noshiro Kojuso. As she approached the kennel, she heard the strong and powerful barking, “woof” , “woof” of the adult dogs, mixed with the yelp of the puppies. According to Mr. Motose Junichi , 59, the owner of the kennel, the peak of puppy births this year was between July and August. Currently there are about 20 puppies living in the kennel, waiting to be taken in.

The first two puppies to greet her were born in June. For the first few minutes, they were barking at the reporter fiercely out of caution, but they gradually calmed down and became friendly. They climbed up standing by the fence, raised their hands in a “welcome” pose, and brought toy from the cage as if to give it to her as a gift.

The temperature was a little chilly for those who were wearing short sleeves on that day. But it was still hot for the Akita dogs, so four large fans were running in the kennel. One puppy was clinging to the cage as it tried to get closer to the fans. We can see clearly how its soft fur was being blown to sway in the wind. Other measures were also taken to prevent the heat, such as covering the kennels with black shade nets. “It was extremely hot this year and I was very worried during the time of the puppy births. I can’t tell you how many shade nets I bought…,” Mr. Motose said with a wry smile.

Around 7:30 a.m., after the reporter finished greeting all the dogs, breakfast time began. Mr. Motose started to feed the dogs in turn. The dogs seemed to know their turn and waited patiently without making a fuss.

These are two litters of puppies born one day apart in late July, one litter with only one dog and the other with three dogs. When the light shining in the kennel hits their fur, their fluffiness stands out.

The one was being taken care of by its mother and enjoying the dog food peacefully. On the other hand, the three were sharing the same bowl of food and playing “Oshikura Manju”, namely shoving each other. But somehow they were eating in harmony. One of them  occasionally looked up to the camera to show a face in the enjoyment of their food, as if it was reporting on the meal. The reporter could not help but be amused by looking at them, hoping that they eat well every day and grow up fast.
